Churches on the Air Event – Saturday 9 September 2017

From 10am until 4pm on Saturday, 9th September, Dunlop Church will participate in the ‘Churches on the Air’ Event.  The annual event is organised by radio enthusiasts who are also active Church members in order to exchange messages of greeting and fellowship between Churches of all denominations throughout the UK. Last year we exchanged greetings with over twenty other Churches from various denominations throughout the UK using the special callsign GB0DPK. Contact was also made with a number of stations in Europe and further afield. The event will also aim to demonstrate to young (and not so young!) people a little of the origins and technology of the radio communications we all now take for granted.  All are welcome to come and see the station in action. It will be located next to the Church from 10a.m. with tea and coffee being available for visitors inside from 2pm to 4pm.
